'Developing Wonder-full Primary Science Teaching, Learning & Assessment

In line with the proposals in the National Curriculum Framework on primary and science education, MASE is taking an active role and preparing teachers for the challenges ahead. This year, MASE is organising a 1 day seminar for Primary and Integrated Science teachers in preparation for the changes that are being proposed by the NCF. We know that the biggest challenge lies in the early years and it will in the future determine the level of success of the changes proposed for the secondary sector. For this purpose, two speakers Dr. Lynne Bianchi and Ms. Penny Thompson from Sheffield University in the UK visited Malta to conduct the seminar titled 'Developing Wonder-full Primary Science Teaching, Learning & Assessment'.

MASE is convinced that this seminar will be very fruitful. Moreover, having a foreign perspective on such important issues as pointed out in the NCF itself is an added bonus for us teachers. Although the title focuses on Primary Science, all content is also relevant for teachers of Integrated Science in Forms 1 and 2.
