MASE will be annually giving a Distinguished Teaching Award in the field of science education. The award is designed to give recognition to current teachers who are classroom teachers at the primary, secondary and post-secondary levels and who have made extraordinary contributions to the field of science education in Malta.

Who can participate?

This award is open to all science teachers who have at least 2 years of teaching experience.

MASE Conference - An Outstanding Success!
On the 20th February, 2010, MASE organised its first conference on Science Education titled ‘Getting Students Hooked on Science’. During the conference that was held at the wine vaults at MonteKristo Estates to a packed audience, the presenters mainly focused on innovative ways in making science a more exciting subject for students. Two foreign guests were present: Mr Ian B Dunne, a British chemist, qualified teacher and now a freelance performer in UK schools, and Professor Alberto J. Cañas, directly from Florida US who shared with the educators present innovative concept mapping strategies.

MASE in collaboration with MCST organised a public lecture on concept mapping, delivered by Prof. Alberto J. Cañas and titled 'Concept Mapping: from Meaningful Learning to a worldwide network of Knowledge Builders'. The lecture was held at the MCST building, Villa Bighi, Kalkara.
